Coursework: There will be weekly homework sets, one midterm, and a final (Tuesday, December 6, 8:00-11:00am). The midterm is scheduled for Thursday, November 3.

Very tentative schedule:

Exams: The midterm covers Chapters 5 and 6 and possibly the very beginning of Chapter 7, and is scheduled for Thursday, November 3. The final is scheduled for Tuesday, December 6, 8:00-11:00am.

Important remarks: No credit will be given for late homework. ``Make-up'' exams must be approved and arranged in advance. Absences from exams due to illness or personal crisis must be adequately documented. Your overall score in the course will be a weighted average of your scores on homework and the exams.

Homework assignments: Homework assignments will be posted on this website and are due the following week by the end of the second section meeting of the week (Wednesday for MW attendees, Thursday for TTh attendees). Important: All pages of each homework assignment should be stapled; the name of your TA should be written on the front page.
