Students with disabilities: PBSci Undergraduate Affairs offers testing accommodations for students with learning or physical disabilities. Tutoring: Learning Support Services offers course-specific tutoring. Students meet in small groups (up to 4 people) led by a tutor; the session are an hour long and there are two sessions every week. Students are eligible for up to 2 hour of tutoring per week per course, and may sign-up for tutoring at the Slug Success website: https://sserc.ucsc.edu/slug-success beginning Friday, October 6th at 5:00PM.

Major Qualification: This course is required to declare one or more of the majors in the Division of Physical & Biological Sciences. Your performance in this course may determine your eligibility for a science or math major. For more information on major qualification, please go to: Qualifying for a Major .

Coursework: There will be weekly homework sets, quizzes (in sections), one midterm, and a final. Your overall score will be calculated from the following weighted components: section attendance (weight 5% ), quizzes (weight 5% each), the midterm score (weight 40%) and the final exam score (weight 45%).

Exams: The midterm covers Chapters 5 and 6 and is scheduled for Tuesday, 11/07. The final is on Tuesday, December 12 at 12:00pm, in our regular classroom Oakes Acad 105 .

Important remarks: ``Make-up'' exams must be approved and arranged in advance. Absences from exams due to illness or personal crisis must be adequately documented. Your overall score in the course will be a weighted average of your scores on quizzes and exams.
